April Business Favorites

I'm so excited to be sharing my April 2017 Business Favorites with you!

I'm excited about this for two reasons:
1. I've come across some resources that I think you're going to LOVE.
2. The fact you are getting this email means that I've finally figured out MailChimp!

This past month I've spent my time traveling for work, learning about Google Analytics/Keywords/SEO/Metadata, and connecting with other like-minded, entrepreneurial people who are trying to make an impact through their work.

My April Business Favorites include:

How to Brand Your Google Docs by Lineamae

If you would have told me a year ago how much time I would be spending in Google docs today, I would not have believed you.

As it turns out, I barely use Microsoft Word or pages anymore. Google docs make it so much easier to save, share, and invite collaborators to your content.

But... Google doc's go-to size 12 Arial font got boring for me real fast. That's why I've been loving this quick tip by Linea Mae. I changed the default fonts to match my branding, and it makes creating documents way more fun. Check out her blog post to learn how you can do this yourself here.

Yoast SEO // Wordpress Plugin

This is a more technical favorite that may not relate to everyone, but I had to include it. If you have a WordPress site and are currently trying to get a grip on the science of search engine optimization, I would highly recommend installing Yoast SEO.

What is it? What does it do? Magic. And Magical things. Yoast SEO optimizes your website content. Whenever you create new content to go up on your site, Yoast SEO will analyze your text and let you know how readable your content is and if it supports your keywords.

Pinterest Moodboards

This month, I had it on my to-do list to "get my Pinterest together." That involved cleaning up my Pinterest boards and evolving my Pinterest account into something that represented all things Callie & Co.

I thought this was going to be hard and time-consuming, but it turned out to be an easy process and one of the best things I've done all month for my brand. I guess they call it pinspiration for a reason. :)

I let myself go a little pin-crazy and found articles about blogging, entrepreneurship, and photography, as well as amazing coffee and flat lay pictures and some impactful quotes. It was really neat to see all of the pins I had collected in one feed. Without thinking about it, I had created a moodboard for Callie & Co that helped bring my ideas to life.

This is quote is SO important. Whatever that thing is that you can't forget about, whatever that idea is, big or small, you have to do it.

Chances are that the reason you can’t forget about it is because it’s going to impact your life (or someone else’s) in a very important way, and that makes it worth the risk.

That's all I'll say for now, but you can read more about why this quote means to much to me here.
